The season ended on over a week ago with a late win against Crewe in what was Michael Appleton’s last game in charge of the imps. Now the league campaign is over, talk has moved to managers but on top of that the City retained list shouldn’t be too far away, with the board already preparing for next season.

We shoudln’t expect to much change to what we already expected from the retained list despite Appleton leaving. Jez George has told LincolnshireLive that the new manager search will not hinder any potential transfer business.

So in terms of our retained list, we have a few players out of contract. Melbourne has already announced his departure from the club on after the game. We know that McGrandles, Bridcutt and Marquis all have their deals ending and they could all depart. McGrandles’ will most likely look to head back to Scotland as his family still live there and he was due to return there before signing for City.

Before he left, Appleton claimed that the club could not afford to sign Marquis on a new deal so he will likely leave. Bridcutt might be on his way out. Despite performing well, injuries have affected him this season. Some have speculated that we may see Bridcutt go into a player-coach role or even a game by game contract but with MA leaving, Bridcutt may not go with either of them options and look elsewhere.
