Double Kit Release: Imps Reintroduce Pinstripes in Home Kit, Striking Away Design Revealed
It was a double kit release for the Imps today as they released both their home and away kits, in preparation for the 2024/25 League One season.
The Imps have released both their home and away kit ahead of the 2024/25 Sky Bet League One campaign.
The first release of the day was a new look home kit. The kit is a new take on the classic shirt worn by the Imps in the 1980s, putting a modern twist on tradition. Using the iconic City colours, the red shirt body is complemented by thin white pinstripes, with a reversed pattern on the sleeves. The back of the shirt is a body of red, allowing for players’ names and numbers to be seen clearly, while the shirt is rounded off with black trim on the neck and arms.
The kit is a modern twist on what was worn in the early 80s by the late, Colin Murphy’s side. The shirt includes a tribute to those who lost their lives in the Valley Parade Disaster – the number ’56’ is surrounded by ‘always remember’ on the back of the shirt.
Branston continues as the primary sponsor for the home shirt too, while it’s also the first replica kit featuring the new badge since it was announced as the official club crest for 2024/25 and beyond. The home shirt will be worn with black shorts, featuring a white Imp and Oxen logo, while the socks are mostly red with a section piece of white, and black trim.
The home goalkeeper shirt was released alongside the outfield shirt too – fully yellow with a black Imp, Oxen badge and Branston logo.
City will once again wear white on their away kit, as they did throughout the 2023/24 season. Oxen have ditched the green this year though, adopting a new eye-catching design. A black stripe runs diagonally down the shirt, with two red lines either side running parallel, which breaks for the University of Lincoln sponsor in the middle.
The badge is white, while the Oxen logo is in black. The back of the shirt also features a ‘We Are Imps’ logo that has been used around the club over the past year. The shorts and socks are also white, with black Imp badges and Oxen logos.
The away goalkeeper shirt matches the home one, but instead of yellow it sports a bright purple colour.
