City defender Zak Bradshaw has joined League Two side Tranmere Rovers on a season long loan.

The 20-year-old signed for the Imps in January 2023, joining from Ipswich Town. After joining the club, he headed out on loan to Dundalk for the second half of the 2023/24 season. He made 18 appearances in the League of Ireland, and has been heavily involved in City’s pre-season campaign throughout the summer.

City’s director of football Jez George said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for Zak to gain experience in League Two at a good club, under an experienced manager, to accelerate his pathway towards our collective aim of Zak playing for Lincoln City in the future.

“Zak has trained and played well throughout pre-season, impressing Michael and the coaching staff, but the potential long-term benefit for Zak and us from this loan is too good to turn down. We will monitor his progress and we look forward to seeing his continued development.”

Bradshaw told Tranmere’s official website: “Since I heard there was interest from the Club, it was a no-brainer for me. I want to go to a side fighting at the top and the manager has made it clear that that’s the goal this season.

“Nigel knows what a good footballer looks like and what it takes to get to the highest level which is ultimately where I want to go, so there is no better person to learn from.

“The fans are the reason we play football so we want to give them something to cheer about.”
