Imps Defender, Lewis Montsma, will miss the rest of the season the club has announced today with a knee injury that he picked up in our defeat to Fleetwood Town a few weeks ago.

A scan on Lewis’ knee has confirmed that he has signifcant damage that requires further consulatation with a specialist knee surgeon. Director of Football Jez George spoke on Lewis following the announcment of the news, “Everyone at the club is devastated for Lewis but equally determined to continue supporting him going forward. Lewis has shown incredible professionalism and commitment throughout his rehab and could not have done more. The same can be said of our medical and sports science staff.

“Lewis is currently back home to spend some time with his family and will be assessed by a specialist knee consultant next week.  We won’t comment any further until we have their confirmed diagnosis.”

Charles Vernam will also miss the rest of the season, which I mentioned in my match review for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with league leaders Sheffield Wednesday. The winger, who signed for the Imps on a free in the summer, has also picked up a knee injury that will see him miss the rest of the season. Mark Kennedy has assured fans that he will be back for pre-season.

I’d like to give my personal wishes to both Lewis and Charles, and hopefully we can see them both shining in City shirts next season.
