Oisin Gallagher has today sealed a loan move to National League North side Peterborough Sports.

The move to Peterborough Sports sees him link up with current Imps’ teammate Hayden Cann. The National League North side are currently battling in the lower depths of the league, and are sitting second bottom of the league, with no win in their last six NLN games. It will be a tough situation for Gallagher to go into, but the move presents him with a chance to play regular football at a good level.

The Republic of Ireland U19 international progressed through City’s Academy after joining the youth system from Derry City a few years ago. He has accumulated five first-team outings for the Imps, with three of them coming this season, one of which was his first start in the EFL Trophy clash against Derby County. In our recent victory against Wolves Under 21s, he came off the bench to help the Mark Kennedy’s side to a 2-0 win and he could appear in all three EFL Trophy Group G games as he remains eligible for our last group match against Notts County in November.

Jez George, City’s director of football, said: “Oisin is an outstanding young player, who has made real progress in the past six months, and now needs a spell of playing regularly for the next stage of his development.

“This is a club we know well, with joint managers that we trust, and we have already seen how well Hayden Cann has performed and progressed. We look forward to Oisin doing the same and then re-assessing his plan for the rest of the season in January.”
