City head coach Michael Skubala spoke to the press on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s clash with Leyton Orient.

A range of topics were discussed with BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Rob Makepeace, including the status of Ben House, Zach Jeacock, Ethan Hamilton and Reeco Hackett as well as comments about Tuesday’s late equaliser against Blackpool and previewing the challenge Orient will provide on Saturday afternoon.

Ben House

Skubala on House: “There’s two issues, the broken nose, which seems like it’s recovering well and the concussion as well so he’s going through protocols at the minute.

“There’s two things that have to align there so he’ll be out this weekend – it’s a bit too early we think.”

Ethan Hamilton

Skubala talking about Hamilton’s availability: “He’s been on the grass the last couple of weeks, looking good. He’s in contention for selection this weekend, obviously he can’t do 90 but he could potentially make the bench. If not then looking at Tuesday for Ethan.”

Zack Jeacock

Skubala on Jeacock: “He’s getting on okay, following [concussion] protocols well. Again still have to follow the days, but he’s coming back well through the protocols.”

Reeco Hackett

City’s head coach on Hackett: “Reeco is back training with the group this week. This weekend or Tuesday more likely so similar situation to Hamo [Ethan Hamilton].”

Blackpool

Discussing Tom Hamer’s late headed equaliser against Blackpool, Skuabla said: “It was a great way to get a point. The character of the group was fantastic, I loved the way they went after the game with ten men. In the end, a point was fair even though I thought they were better than us first half.

“I didn’t think we were good enough first half, not aggressive we usually are. Credit to them, they’re a really good team, really big threats, experienced at the level, well set up and they can hurt you. Second half we came out well, looked more like ourselves up until the sending off.

“When you’re not at your best and you come away with a point at those places, it’s a really good show of character.”

Leyton Orient

Speaking about Saturday’s visitors, Skubala said: “They’re [Leyton Orient] a good team, they press high, they want to dominate the ball, they’re aggressive. They’ve started okay and they’ll start moving up the league as they go but for sure they’ll be a strong team. We’ll have to be on it.”
