We have now entered our short break because of the postponement of the MK Dons fixture due to international callups. This break means we have an extended of period of time to prepare for the next fixture against Bolton Wanderers away from home, but as if the theme with Lincoln for the past few years, It is all about what players we can get back from injury and onto the training pitch and more importantly into the matchday squad in just under two weeks time.

Joe Walsh

You can’t name a more unlucky footballer than Joe Walsh. There is being injury prone, then there is just bad luck and he is suffering from both. Walsh was recovering from a long-term injury over the summer break, which meant he lost out on all the pre-season preparations. He then returned and managed to play 45 minutes away at Cambridge but picked up a small injury in training putting him out of action until now.

In an interview last week, Mark Kennedy claimed that the defender had picked up an injury and would be available in a few weeks and miss a couple of games.

Ted Bishop

Ted Bishop was potentially in his best form of his City career prior to his injury. He has five goals this season, which is more than any other season in his career, so it is fair to say he was playing well for us. He hobbled off in the Derby game over a week ago, being replaced by Tashan Oakley-Boothe leaving many slightly worried.

Similary to Walsh, Kennedy has said that Bishop will be out for a couple of games.

Danny Mandriou

Some people may have forgotten that we even signed Danny Mandriou, and that is fair considering he hasn’t featured at all for us this season (not even in pre-season). He was close to a return to action at the start of the month, but another injury has hindered his progress slightly. There is positive news however, he is back on the grass and will return to full training on Monday according to Mark Kennedy, meaning he may have a place in the squad against Bolton.

As I said earlier, it is early days but there is a slim chance he could be involved in a small way against Bolton.

Jacob Davenport, Jay Benn & Others

Jacob Davenport picked up a hamstring injury in the Doncaster game on Tuesday after an impressive seventy minutes and no time frame has been put on that as of yet. Jay Benn has got a small problem with his knee and again no timeframe was set on that.

Lewis Montsma remains a long term absentee.
