This afternoon, City have agreed the loan signing of left wing-back Harry Boyes from Sheffield United until the end of the current campaign.
Boyes, a left wing-back who is 21 years old, played part of his youth career at Manchester City. Boyes departed Man City in 2018, the same year that Mark Kennedy did, so there is a strong possibility that our Head Coach is familiar with him from his time there and has a good working relationship with him.
Boyes has been at Sheffield United ever since leaving Manchester. He has impressed while on loan with Solihull Moors and Bradford Park Avenue. With the latter, he contributed five goals and five assists, earning him a spot on the National League Team of the Season. He joined Forest Green Rovers on loan this season but was recalled by Sheffield United a few days ago, and he impressed with the struggling League One side and was in good form for them since October gaining multiple assists.
He said: “I’m very happy to be here, it’s a new challenge for me and I’m really looking forward to getting started.
“I worked with Mark Kennedy when I was at Manchester City and so I have a good idea of the style he likes to play which is a factor for me to come here and I know he wants to play in a way that suits me.
“I’m an attacking full-back that likes to get forward. I’m someone who wants to get forward and create chances.”
