It has been announced today that Jordon Garrick has been recalled by Swansea City, and it is also now confirmed that he has headed straight out on a permanent deal to League One rivals Forest Green Rovers.

Since joining the the Imps last summer, the 24-year-old has made 16 appearances and scored one goal. As they attempt to stay in the third tier, he will now go permanently to Forest Green Rovers. Jordon has been disappointing for the Imps despite showing promise on his debut for the club against, his now, new club Forest Green, where he registered an assist.

Garrick has made 11 league appearances for us, five of which have been as a starter and six of which have been as a substitute. He hasn’t participated in a league game since the draw with Accrington Stanley at the beginning of November, and hasn’t started since our 2-0 loss to Bolton Wanderers. He has since appeared in two cup matches, one at St. Mary’s during our heart breaking loss to Southampton in the cup and once when we faced Everton Under 21s.

While Garrick may have had more to give, he opens up a spot for us to improve our current squad in the loan market, with restrictions of only five loan players being able to feature in the matchday squad and on the flip-side, he gets a permanent move to a team, where he can be the star man for them. This is not what we all had in mind when he signed for us but sometimes some moves don’t work out, despite looking like they will. You just need to look at the Dan Nlundulu scenario last season.

I would like to thank Jordon for his service and I was wish him all the best at Forest Green, until we play them away from home!
