Interim head coach, Tom Shaw, has given an update on Jack Vale ahead of this weekend’s fixture against Fleetwood Town.

Jack Vale signed for the club on transfer deadline day but has been unavailable since he arrived to the club due to injury. Many expected the striker to be back towards the end of September, but an injury set back meant he had to return to Blackburn Rovers before joining up with the squad at the Elite Performance Centre earlier this month.

Shaw gave an update on Vale’s status ahead of a crucial fixture against Fleetwood this weekend and confirmed that it’s likely the 22-year-old will be available for selection.

“Jack has been brilliant in the way he has trained. It’s exciting that he’ll probably be available. In terms of how we use him, we’ll have to discuss it with the medical team to see what’s right.

“It’s looking really positive for him to be involved in this next period – which is a big boost for everybody.”

Regarding other availability issues, Tyler Walker and Ben House remain sidelined with long-term injuries, as does Lewis Montsma. Danny Mandroiu is also unavailable after his recent sending off against Burton Albion, which will see him miss the next three games.”
