Imps duo, Michael Skubala and Joe Taylor have been nominated for EFL awards for the month of March.

Skubala has been shortlisted for the March Manager of the Month award along with Portsmouth’s John Mousinho, Charlton’s Nathan Jones and Derby’s Paul Warne. The Imps head coach was also up for the award in Feburary but missed out to Mousinho.

The month of March has seen City stay unbeaten and extend the run to 15 games. The month started with a 0-0 draw with Stevenage, which hurt our playoff hopes but five straight wins including a 5-1 away win against Barnsley on top of 6-0 and 5-0 home wins against Cambridge and Bristol Rovers respectively. The month ended with a last gasp winner from Jovon Makama against Leyton Orient on Good Friday.

Joe Taylor has been shortlisted for the March Player of the Month. The young striker has also been nominated for the PFA League One Player of the Month award along with Jack Moylan. Taylor kicked off the month with the first goal against Barnsley, and followed it up with a brace against Cambridge and then his first career hattrick against Bristol Rovers.

Taylor will be up against Derby’s Ebou Adams, Charlton’s Alfie May and Reading’s Sam Smith. Reeco Hackett was previously nominated for February’s Player of the Month, but didn’t win the award.

The winners will be announced on Friday 11th April.
