The Imps have completed the signing of Swansea City forward Jordon Garrick on a loan deal until the end of the season. The Jamaican born forward becomes our third loan signing of the window joining Tashan Oakley-Booth and Carl Rushworth.
The attacker can play as a striker or a right-winger, proving to be effective in both positions after loan spells with Swindon Town and Plymouth Argyle at this level. He has featured for Swansea too, fourteen times in total with eleven of them coming in the Championship, where he scored two goals. His first loan spell away from the Welsh outfit came at Swindon Town, and he scored against us in a 2-2 draw in the 20/21 season. He scored seven goals for Plymouth last season, despite over half of his games coming by substitute appearances.
Garrick joins Morgan Whittaker and Liam Cullen as the Swansea loanees to join the club after that duo spent the second half of last season with us as we bolstered our squad to help our survival bid. The former of that duo has joined Jordon’s old club, Plymouth Argyle on loan, while the latter was on the scoresheet for Swansea City against Oxford United in their League Cup penalty shootout defeat on Tuesday night.
Our new man spoke to the club official site earlier today. “I’m super happy to be here – I’ve been at Swansea now for 10 years and it feels like this is the right club to take my career to the next step.
“I spoke to Liam Cullen, who was on loan here last season, he said it was a great group of lads and a well-run club. He said how passionate the fans are and spoke nothing but positively about the club.
“The head coach was a winger and someone I feel I can learn off. He speaks really highly of the fans, the staff and club in general.”
