22/23 AllLincoln Player of the Season: Regan Poole
The 22/23 AllLincoln Player of the Season is Regan Poole.
Regan becomes the first player to win this AllLincoln accolade back-to-back after winning it for his superb performances in 21/22. Upon winning the award last season, my article wrote, “In what has been a difficult season for the club, Regan has been a consistent and exceptional defender for us. He has played both right-back and centre-half earning plaudits in both positions. Regan captained the side on a few occasions, most recently in a massive win against Wimbledon in a relegation six-pointer. Regan is undoubtedly future captain material, and could become a real fan favourite next season and beyond.”
It was tougher competition for Regan this season, with the impressive performances of other defenders such as Paudie O’Connor and Adam Jackson, as well as goalkeeper Carl Rushworth. However, for me, Regan has once again been the most consistent and outstanding performer. His leadership roles on and off the pitch have been crucial to our success under Mark Kennedy this year, and next season Regan will undoubtedly go on to become a Championship defender.
I was lucky enough to be able to present the award pitchside for the second year running, and firstly I want to thank Regan for, once again, being so approachable, and friendly and being happy to take the time to engage with me and take the award. I’d also like to thank the media team at Lincoln City for their continued support with not just being able to sort this out but in general across the season.
As we all know by now, Regan will not be a Lincoln City player next season. I’ve already said what I want to say on his departure, but once again I’d like to wish Regan all the best as he moves on to pastures new.
